Postby JohnDavisStringsHere » Tue Feb 15, 2011 9:51 am

Do you sometimes find a lick thats just too nice to keep all to yourself??? Then Share the Bugger!!!
I will start with this one IMHO one of the prettiest I have ever managed to steal from the great Bobby Black....first listen to this track and you will hear it at 2.07

OK now go to your15th fret pedals down and lower your 2nd string a half tone pick strings (two at a time) 3 and 4 then1 and2 then 4 and5 change your chord shape to E on the 15th fret =(A pedal and raise the E`s) and play the same strings releasing the A pedal on the way down.......... AS Bernard would say.....Boooootiful!!! :guitar:

Here's a way to get from the 5 chord back to the 1 chord:

If we're in the key of F, put the bar on the 8th fret (C chord)

Pick strings 4 and 8 simultaneously

Lower string 4 with your 'E' knee lever, and pick strings 4 and 7 simultaneously

Keep the 'E' lever activated, and slide back one fret , to the seventh fret.
Press the 'B' pedal (to raise string 6 a semitone)
Pick strings 4 and 6 simultaneously

Slide back one more fret, keeping the 'E' knee lever and 'B' pedal activated, and pick strings 4 and 5 simultaneously.

 I am a little dissapointed with the response here!! :( The only one that steps up to the plate is Richard and its taken me forever to get a handle on his lick (not sure I have it right now!) as I play by ear if I cannot hear it I find it twice as hard to learn it...... Come on Mr.Byng, Nutty and Uncle Roy AND the rest of you!!! .....you must have something to give and Richard & I want something back.....right Richard???? :)

One for the Learners, I think. I Pulled this off of several Records!
At any open chord position, pick string 8 (the root), then string 6 (the Third), then press pedal B to raise the third to a fourth .then pick string 5, then 4 (root, but one octave higher) .then you could then pick six again, and release the B pedal while its ringing.
So, that's: 8, 6-6B, 5, 4. 6B-6.
you can also, instead of going back for string 6, pick 5 again and press the A pedal, to move from a I chord to a IV chord.
8, 6-6B, 5, 4, 5-5A
sounds nice. Hope this makes sense.

Try this, very sweet, very easy, can be done in any key, I use it in G at the 15th fret, gets you from G to C. Pick 345 together, then 125 together with a 1/2 A pedal then 345. Nice and slow, works in Mansion on a Hill. Donny.

OK - JD has shamed me into joining in during my lunch break at work. Here's a very simple slow run to get from C to F that involves the 2 E levers and pedals A&B.

Fret 3 - Pedal B down, pick strings 4,5 & 6 and hit pedal A while the strings are ringing. While A&B are both down - lower the 4th string a semi-tone with the E-Eb knee lever and again pick strings 4,5,&6 releasing the lever and then raising the 4th string with E-F lever while the strings are all still sustaining. Pedals A&B still down on fret 3 but with no levers pick strings 4, 5,& 6 again and raise the E string, and while the strings are still sustaining slide the bar to the 6th fret holding the E-F lever in place but releasing the A&B pedals on the way to the 6th fret. Immediately go to the 8th fret, no levers press pedal B and hit strings 5,6,& 8 and then press pedal A as well.

This gives you a C to Caug to C7 to F. You have to hit the strings firmly to get the sustain required. Very basic, and one of the first things I picked up but it sounds quite pretty.

Sorry guys, should have said when you pick 345 A&B pedals should be down to give you the C. It was too early in the morning. Donny
