Hi Malcolm, you are correct, at one point on the GFI student I had to replace the teflon pieces as they started to come loose and fall off, I had to dismantle the changer to do this, lucky it was a very simple changer! Having said that I also used a drop of sewing machine oil in the changer. TBH I used to lubricate the whole guitar as it used to get a bit "sticky"
