Anyone going to the Dallas Show this year??

I am just arranging my travel to the Texas Steel Guitar Association annual Jamboree in Dallas that runs from 10th March to 13th March. I am hopefully going to drive down to Nashville for a couple of weeks, returning to Dallas Fort Worth Airport on 30th March for my return flight back to the UK. I know that Spence Scott has booked tickets for him and his missus already, but I'm interested to see if anyone else is going to make the trip this year. (Mr McMiser is making noises about going over, but first of all he will have to take a jemmy to his sporran). For those who have never been, it is a wonderful experience. I am hoping to meet up with Mr & Mrs Mike Johnson in Nashville, as well as other friends that I have in that great town.

Mr Bling, I am indeed planning to go to Dallas, probably out on the Tuesday( stand by, staff travel)meeting up with Sue and Edie of Peterson to do some tourist things.I am not in position to do the Nasville thing, but there is a possibility I may go down to Austin on the Sunday, as a good friend of mine is appearing on the South by Southwest festival and has invited me down.Believe Geoff Noble will be at Dallas with his good lady to pick up his new MSA Legend S12 from Kyle.Surprised you are not travelling on the same cargo plane that is carrying your extremely large wallet.In Red Roof as usual, Cracker Barrel for Breakfast?

Mind how you drive in Austin Malcolm. Of all the towns that I have visited over the years in the States, in my opinion Austin is the most challenging to drive in.

I got a text a couple of weeks ago from The Driver, and he was having breakfast in Cracker Barrell. I have converted a few from Denny's to Cracker Barrell. Good home cooked food in very pleasant surroundings and atmosphere.

Ted and The Driver are definitely going to Dallas.

Ken, if the Austin gig happens I will fly down and get the young lady who asked me to sit in with her band, to pick me up, so won't have to drive, and as BA now fly from there now I can fly back to London from there.

I will be flying in on the Tuesday. I'm flying from Dallas to Nashville on the Sunday afternoon to see Mike Johnson's band at the Station Inn on the Tuesday after Dallas, and then fly back to Dallas on Thursday 17th and pick up my flight home. Look forward to seeing you and Ivor.

I've booked a hire car in Nashville, but still debating whether to hire one in Dallas. Probably need one to get to Grapevine Mills each day, but I might just get my meals at the Sheraton. My plane arrives in Dallas at 14.20 Mr McMiser, so I will keep a lookout for you.

Ok Ken, if flights are on time should be there around same time, will help you to carry your heavy wallet Wasn't too impressed with food at Sheraton last time, Cracker Barrel probably better option, or maybe Spence will invite us to dine at his penthouse suite.

I took Spence and his mate to Cracker Barrel the year before last - I think they enjoyed it. The food is always freshly cooked (unlike Denny's) and the menu is very diverse. For many years you could only get to a Cracker Barrel in Tennessee, but recently they have been spreading westwards into Arkansas and Texas. Thank goodness
