I Apologise to all concerned regarding my previous post if I somehow inadvertantley opened up a hornets nest. I was quite simply trying to find a way of getting Irish TV to recognise that every year they are missing out on a fantastic show featuring talent from all over the world and a great deal of home grown talent, all of which in my opinion is well worth TV coverage.

It was OK and a very welcome opportunity to 'clear the air'.. All sorted now.
As for Irish TV and the Irish Steel Guitar Festival, next year will see coverage for sure, can't say if it will be live. But it will be covered (providing the committee agree). Maybe the Festival organisers could sort out live streaming of the audio on the interwebthingy !

Well done Dave. Don't beat yourself up for trying to further the cause of steel guitar in the UK. You weren't to know that there were historical issues around, so congratulations for coming up with a well meaning and intentioned idea.

Don't feel bad about it Dave. Some positives have come out of the discussion. Of benefit to me is that I now know where Basil's show can be found.
