"The Best Little Whore House In Texas"

Postby chris hillman » Thu Oct 15, 2015 2:48 pm

I'm just in the middle of doing a run of "The Best Little Whore House In Texas". I wasn't sure how i was going to fair with it but, from the recordings and score i've made it my own. Its a fun challenge! Anyone else got experience of this show?

I have done it once for a four day run and I know John Davis has done several. It is a fun show and it was great playing with the full quota of instruments.
I have seen videos where a cut down band has been used but most of the score needs fiddle and steel to sound authentic (in my opinion).

You are lucky

A few years ago I was asked to play it in Jersey - three days notice - and I was given a score and told I must play it exactly as the original.

Needless to say I declined
