Sho~Bud? on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pedal-steel-g ... ?#viTabs_0

Saw this this morning - being a newbie to PSG I'm not sure what kind of Bud it is - maybe more experienced members could shed some light on it? Unfortunately there's only one picture and whoever is selling knows very little about it. Never seen one with a neck rest like that. Curious...

Anyway, there's 5 days left on it and the current bid is pretty low.

Have a good Friday.
Cheers!
Joe.

The undercarriage would be good to see. It certainly doesn't look or "feel" like the usual kind of scam so it could be ok and probably is. Usually scams have a "buy it now", a picture copied from a genuine item and are more certain about the make and model. The brief blurb is a curious mix of naive and canny, don't you think?
The head and fret board are Bud; not sure about the carcase, but could be a refinish, and the back pad looks like it's fitted over some back neck hardware or a plank shaped to cover scars from removed parts. Pedals don't look right but I am no expert on the variations over the years. It may be "made from parts". Looks very good for having had 10 years in a shed though!
Does anyone here know the guitar? Needs a looking at for sure. Are the five bids maybe from some of us? :?:  :guitar:

The neck and changer are from a Sho-Bud Pro 111, the p/up looks to be right also the narrow pedals
It started life as a D.10 8x4 and the undercarriage was or is probably 2 hole pullers with nylon tuners.

I sent the seller a request to publish some pics of the undercarriage. Could be a new cabinet that someone has made for the parts. It can't be described as a Sho~Bud as it doesn't look completely original. No-one knows more about 'Buds than Ron Mawn, and he looks to be spot on with his comments. It needs a couple of shots of the mechanics just to show that it could be playable. It will be interesting to see just how much this instrument reaches in terms of bids, especially when Mavericks can reach 4 figures on eBay.

Likewise Ken I asked him as soon as I saw it. He replied and said he would but so far, no joy.

If this is a Bud it will probably have the two hole pullers and monkey metal knee levers, you know the ones that keep breaking.

My Pro 111 has the same type of pedals, and is triple raise and double lower. No pot metal parts on my old girl thank goodness, but there are some people who say that the pot metal guitars had the best tone.

I say that's a load of bo££ocks! :o :o

That's right Mr Byng, NO two hole pullers should have pot metal lever they were all tear drop levers.

You seem so assured with the details of this guitar. Did this guitar wend its way through your fingers at some point? That is a very distinctively coloured cabinet. Is it original?

I have a contact who needs some work done on his pedal steel, and gave him your email address. Hopefully he has contacted you.
