I would like to thank everyone who supported our meeting last Saturday.
It was good to see several of our regulars who manage most of the meetings. It was good to see Ken Byng who manage to make it from Southampton although his main car let him down on the Saturday afternoon so he came up in his sports car which sadly was not big enough to take his steel etc but he still gave us a tune or two on the Sheffield steel kindly offered by Bob Vaughan from Chard in Somerset. We were also treated to several great solo tunes by Gus York all the way from Devon. Once again a big thanks to all for a good evening.

A good time was had by most, indeed.

It seems the Sheffield withstood Ken's attention and came out full of new licks and chords! Anybody like to try getting Paul F over for next month?

:)

Don't be silly Bob that is no trouble what about Tommy White at the same time? :guitar: but if they cannot make the April meeting you will have to play a few more numbers this time ;)
Did Ken leave some of his licks on the Sheffield? If so I wouldn't mind a few

He left something on the steel, but I managed to get it off with some surgical spirits! ;)

As for more tunes Roy - you had 3 last time, don't be greedy. Perhaps I'll play the first two again and get 'em right this time.

Thanks for the opportunity to make a fool of myself.

April - Hot cross buns?

Roy, what a poor excuse from old money bags Byng  I know of one Scottish Steelie , who shall be nameless , but let's call him Gamble, who used to get himself, steel and amp into a MG Midget( no comments please) to get to gigs, and our good friend Gordon Cook from Manchester who got to gigs on a motor bike loaded with his gear :o .I would recon steel and amp would fit into a Merc sports no problem, probably didn't want to put wear on his strings, just use somebody else's.
MSA Millennium SD1O, GK MB200,Sica 12 and Telonics 15 speakers , Joyo American Sound pre amp, Jay Ganz Straight Ahead 500w class D Amp, Hilton pedal, Peterson tuners,Digitech RP150,Scott Dixon seat/ flight case.

Get away with you Mr McMiser!! If you could get my Show Pro and Telonics amp in my Merc I would give you a quid.  Thanks to Bob for letting me use his fine guitar and amp for a couple of numbers. Next month, if I have no gig on the night, I will come up with my rig. I have just met up with Buck at the Sherraton, and gave him your regards. He said 'What that tight old B@st@rd'. So your reputation precedes you.

You're quite welcome Ken.

In my opinion you wouldn't get a cheese sandwich in that Mercedes of yours - get a furniture van and you could bring all your guitars over.........now that would be a treat.

Only kidding..................... :ugeek:
