I think that the number of happy customers both in the UK and USA who really rate the performance of the hard chromed bar in the form of BJS - not BS by the way - are way higher than those who use the Sheffield bar.

Tommy White has quoted on the other forum that his favourite bar is the Emmons bar that he's had for yonks. According to their web site, Tommy is also an endorsee of BJS bars.

Ken, with respect, perhaps he just considers both bars are very good.
Although he now endorses Mullen it doesn't mean he thinks Sho-Pro are worse or better.

Let's face it, Tommy would sound great playing a cardboard box.

Talked to Jerry Hogan today, he has BJS bar's, the size I want but they are £59.95 a bit too much for me at this time, so I will have to look else wear, or wait till I get a gig or two, so press on with what I have.

Tommy flits from product to product. Always seems to have done so, but he has at least 3 bars in his arsenal to my knowledge. I bet he has been given a whole bunch of more bars over the years. That goes on when you get as good as Tommy. I have had the pleasure of seeing him live dozens of times over the years and he has knocked me out each time. He is also a brilliant Dobro and 6 string guitar player as well.

Dave Wheelhouse makes a nice bar, and makes a nice guitar too. I say that 'cos he's my mate and I don't talk with forked tongue!!

If anyone smells BS on this thread, they must have their nose too close to their 'arris. Either that or the late Bill Stroud and Bobbe Seymour didn't know what they were talking about. I know who I believe in this matter, but unfortunately they aren't around to argue the point anymore.

The only bar that I wish I had bought was the Tribo Tone. Becomes slicker with use on all types of string, but doesn't have the weight of a steel bar. Basil H was using one at one time, and so too did Reece Anderson when I used to see him at Johnny High's theatre in Arlington. They came in all kinds of cool colours.
