Rod Thacker-Day RIP

Postby Jim Pritchard » Wed Feb 11, 2015 7:18 pm

It is with sadness, our good friend & fellow steeler, Rod Thacker-Day (71), passed away peacefully on 2nd January.
He played with several bands around the South Coast, his last band was 'Apache', and gave up playing a few years ago due to ill health.
He was a regular at my steel meetings over the past 9years, and was a contributor to the BSS magazine'
AKA. "Granddad Rod"
His funeral will take place at Bournemouth Crematorium, 3pm on 17th February. You are all welcome.

RIP my good friend. Jim Pritchard

I am very sorry to hear this Rod, (Grandad Rod ) also attending many of the BSS meetings in Pucklechurch in the 80s and 90s and as Jimmy stated contributed many articles for our newsletters.
He really was also a character to be with. RIP Grandad Rod.

That's bad news. I haven't seen Rod at the Bluebird club for a couple of years. He was always a regular.

He and I used to have a bit of banter and winding up. RIP Rod. :( :(
