I was using band in a box 2015 - the complete package. It was expensive so my daughter went in for it from her gig money. Most of the time we now use real tacks from this which are very tasty - and the ability to switch instruments is very handy. Needless to say she gave me a copy. Also modern technology comes in handy as well. She will work on a backing for our joint stuff and then tell me what settings she has used. She then records using Audacity and then sends me the actual vocal tracks via dropbox. I put them into Cubase together with the backing which I've transferred from B in a B and then add the extra instruments live. You can hear the end result of "Baker Street " which was done this way. As for the fiddle part - I was just looking around and tried it although my original idea was to record electric guitar. The fiddle sounded tasty so I left it.

Interesting stuff.
Worked in studios for many years as both a muso and on production side, had a few years lay off and on return- lordy how things have changed.
All sounds good and great if you have the application.
