Hi Malcolm, I can testify that Davie's never sounded better. The telonics was going straight into the power amp input on the rear of his nashville. Awesomely big sound, with very balanced clarity throughout. You know how fast Davie can pick! Every note was punching out. I had the pleasure of sitting across the hall from him and it was a very impressive sound.

The Pre 1000 is a rackmount stand alone unit powered by a 24v wall wart similar to the Telonics and Hilton pedals. I run from the Pre to My T.C.Furlong S.P.L.I.T which is a D class powered speaker.
Davie ran fro the pre to the power amp in of the Nash which by passes the Nash's preamp section.

Malcolm - The PRE-1000 is powered via a 24VDC socket on the back panel. If you don't have a Telonics power amp the PRE-1000 is supplied with a 24VDC power supply to allow you to use it as a standalone unit - studios tend to use it this way. However, if you buy a Telonics PA-4200 power amplifier it has two a 24VDC power outputs that enable you to power up both the PRE-1000 and an FP-100 volume pedal. You pop the PRE-1000 and PA-4200 in a Telonics 3U soft rack, together with your effects unit, hook up a couple of Telonics cabs and plug in your volume pedal and you are ready to GO!

Thanks Danny, Mark confirmed on the other thread that the Pre 1000 can be powered from external source.It would be good if they could bring out a basic version without the effects etc, single Channel , mono, to reduce price, as it stands it is a very expensive unit, albeit great sounding.
Davie take it you ran it mono out of left channel?

Yes Malcolm..mono out to the Nash Power amp in on the back.
I used the stock reverb on the Telonics which seems to my ear to have a little amount of built in delay? It was good enough for me not wanting to muck about with extra cables and delay units etc. Sounded great all in one unit.
Its sooo tweakable and the hum filter worked a treat too.
Just to confirm that this unit DOESNT require a PA 4200 with Cabs to make it vastly improve your sound. All you need is any power amp. It essentially does the same as the MB 200 Malc. But sounds better to my ears.

Yep Davie , but six times the price of MB200 --- £200 vs £1765, no contest in my view.
