Just a little post to say hello as a newbie to PSG and this forum.
I was hooked when I witnessed maestro Kevan Bartholomew contribute his magic to recordings for my band.

BTW having bought a Carter Starter to get going, I need a Carter 2" lift kit / extension / overheight kit if somebody has 1 for sale. I have asked Al Brisco @ Steel Guitars Canada but he has no ETA from his engineer... (I will also post this in the 'wanted' section)

No replies yet, can't have that happening! Welcome to the BSS, Jan. We're all mad but we love our steels, and you will find a wealth of experience and knowledge. As with any special interest group we are like a little village, and everyone is always happy to talk steel and music.

I started with a Carter Starter, it's fashionable to look down one's nose at them because you can't adjust them, and they are built down to a price. The fact is it got me well and truly hooked, it'll do you fine for a while and there are plenty of good used pro steels around for when you are ready to upgrade.

I am practicing and soaking up as much information as I can and will be visiting the forum often. I may also check out a meet if there's one fairly local (wiltshire).
