I have tickets to see him at Fernham Hall, Fareham on 2nd November. I doubt if pink hot pants will be there, but she would be too distracting for me. The last time I went to this little theatre was ages ago when we went to see Brendan Shine, just after I recorded with him in London. Brendan is very old fashioned compared to Nathan Carter, who would go down really well at the Opry in Nashville.

Yes Billy - them thar minor chords are a real hindrance ain't they. I once played guitar with a guy who did Mona Lisa and I Left My Heart In San Francisco in 3 major chords. I used to sit them out while I cringed in shame, 'cos I refuse to play blatantly wrong chords for anyone.

Similar story Ken,I did a pub residence with a musically challenged singer/guitarist who was a Scot and had lived in the U.S for many years. He sang " Amarillo" in the key of G and when the song did the short key change to E flat He insisted in going to C. We argued constantly about this "I am right ! No I am right" I eventually I found a music book with the words and chords showing that I was correct,I presented this to My muso friend and He quickly deduced that I was playing the "British" version and He was playing the "American " version !!! He also sang "New York New York" in the ubiquitous three chords.
Watch out for that Scottish Mafia at Dublin,Any problems just let Me know and I will get it sorted.

Ha - I am looking forward to seeing the Jocks in Dublin Billy, especially seeing Mr Willie Gamble performing (and playing steel guitar ) I had a very nice chat on the dog and bone with Willie, and he has a good sense of humour. We have promised not to heckle each other while we are watching the other. I'm looking around for a good Winnebago at the moment, so once I have that I will be popping up to Salmond Land next spring.

I haven't yet met anyone connected with steel guitar from Scotland who hasn't been a scholar & a gentleman. You can have a good craic with a good majority of Scots.

Some players from Euroland and outside will be able to swear loudly should they hit a bum note and be confident that few will understand it.

Well, I did my regular Sunday afternoon gig yesterday, and finished in time to take wifey to see Mr Nathan Carter at Ferneham Hall with his band. Not bad at all, very good singer and performer, and surprise surprise........Stevie Hamilton on Rains SD10 pedal steel and other instruments. The steel guitar made a big difference, and Stevie is a competent player. The show got wifey's seal of approval, and I am in her good books for an hour or two.
