Very sad day.
I saw Weldon at the Opry in the late 60's and he was head and shoulders above the other players.
His solo's, all off the cuff of course, were staggering. He'd do something and you would think to yourself, "wow, that was a masterpiece".
The annoying thing was, he kept doing them..... I think around that time - 60's and 70's he was really at his peak, his Emmons sounded terrific.

I used to play one of his instrumentals "Corn Crib". I'll try and post my humble (live)version in memory and with the greatest respect.
