An excellent day, David, well done and thank you! A really good plan and everything worked to timetable. Steel guitar is in safe hands with this sort of help for us less experienced players. Thanks to you, Fran and all your friends who helped. And thanks to Matt for bringing your buddy up from London, that was great food. I hope he was happy with how it went and will want to come back next year. Superb playing by the pro players, we all have food for thought for many a week to come.

A big thanks to Dave and his helpers - a very successful day.

Never thought I would meet up with so many people from the past and it was great to see them all again, and to meet some new ones too. The food was great, the guests awe inspiring. In all having been away from the steel for a long time, this as given me the enthusiasm to use it a lot more. My first festival and it certainly will not be my last.

As for the steel guitars? Yes we see them in the adverts but it was brill to see them in real life - and yes - John Finley did see me on my hands and knees again looking at undercarriage.

Yes Dave - Do it again.

Well done Dave & co, Barnham Steel Fest II a definite success, a most enjoyable day.. I think the 'round robins' were the longest yet.. any more steelers we'll be playing for a fortnight.. :D
:? Do I need to rethink my 2nd string full tone lower stance? Don't seem possible play any of those LG licks without it

Thank you putting on a great day David, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Terrific to meet some more of you and hear how talented everyone is. I think I felt equal parts intimidation and inspiration!

I've put some photos up here, sorry if I didn't get a good one of you, I tried to get everyone in (must remember to take a selfie next time!):

What more can I say that hasn't been said but for a very talented guy, David Hartley. This man is our Lloyd Green Mr Steel player of the UK, he plays the steel, for me as it's supposed to be play, with feeling and emotion. The day was great for learning from a Master. Thank you David for your enthusiasm wanting to pass on years of experience to us all....A big thank you to everyone else who was involved, a very enjoyable day.
Barry.

Thanks David For a Great weekend, terrific day yesterday superb accomadation, breakfast and lesson this morning. Really appreciate the all work you've put in and for helping me this morning understand more of the goings on in the mysterious world underneath the steel.
