Now that I've got my steel out of the back of the garage at last and wiped the rust off after all these years I'll gladly be there if poss.

I think I've managed to blag a lift down with Henry Bainbridge, so (assuming there's still space?) I'll definitely be coming along. Really looking forward to seeing and hearing everyone, putting faces to names and learning a thing or two!

It's a shame, Bhattacharya's playing in London that evening, but the steel meet wins out!

Hope to see you all then,

T

Thanks Dave, no pressure then. My pick blocking might be ok but my palm blocking is terrible.
I can't wait for this meeting, i think we will all get a lot out of it. Roll on May

I am completing a guest room at my house this week.

I was wondering, would any one person who is coming to my meeting on the Sunday like to stop here the night of May 11th and have a 2 or 4 hour one-to-one steel tuition here with me at the Hartley house the following day, Monday 12th May.

Bed and Breakfast is £40 and I will charge my normal hourly rate for tuition which is £30 per hour.

Please reply by email only to [email protected]

I only have room for 1 person, and the first person to take up this offer by email to me will have it booked in.

Hi.

Great news on food and beverages for the steel meeting.

London chef Ben Lindsay will be there most of the day serving breakfast, dinner, teas, coffees and beers.

The Backstreet Diner is a Food Truck started by London chef Ben Lindsay.
It is great English produce cooked in a kinda Diner style.
We have tried to do it right. We use rare breed meats and local suppliers
everywhere possible, and sustainable biodegradable packaging to serve all
our food.

I have a very busy period now.

I am in the Netherlands this weekend doing a seminar of steel, and Norway next weekend.

Be prepared to do lots of playing, less screen viewing, less theory, more licks, more pass a rounds, more tracks, more group playing, and certainly sharing all our skills and knowledge.

Long pass around tracks from me will include,

Cold Cold a Heart, Kiss an angel good morning, Saginaw Michigan, Angels (Robbie Williams), Mansion on the hill, Farewell Party..

Playing Instrumentals, and backing up vocalists is the subject all through.

Lick sharing will be a very important part also, so bring and share your best....

Bring your own tracks too..

Can't wait to see you all..

Evening session by pro players....

PS.. There will be Beer served from the Back Street Diner and a Cider Bar in the hall. Draught and take away... :D

The food etc arrangements sound great. I have some quick learning to do as all the selected tracks are ones I've not tried. Angels is hardly country, but what the hell! :D Love the idea of the focus on backing up a vocalist. Very different skill from doing a solo piece I think. Looking forward to this day.
