Renovating my new/old Zum from 1978

HI James. Yes I would love to get in contact with Bruce Zumsteg! Easy said but difficult to do, as I look at it! Cant find an email adress to him or the Company!
Would love to ask about knee levers that is worn out. Need a new fret board to!
Any ideas how to get in contact with the Company?

Thanks James. I saw his number on his hompage so I guess I will have to give him a call! I wonder how he got the pictures of ZUM guitars/Zum players in his gallery? I guess I will learn when I have talked to him!

Thanks a lot for the info James. I phoned Bruce this evening. He was thrilled about what will happen to this old ZUM. First word he said was "wow that color had fade",,, hahahaha, yes thats the least we can say!
Bruce got my thoughts changed what to do with the wood body! I have already talked to one of my Brothers about it! My brother Mats has been a funiture Carpenter last 45 years, so I will send the cabinet to him for the Wood work. The knee levers is up to me to fix, but I guess it will not be a big problem as I have the mechanical work shop to use! A new fretboard will be needed

Bruce also told me that this was actually the first ZUM steelguitar to be exported to Europe! That makes this guitar even more worth to restore and keep, at least in my mind!

Very interested in what you are doing. I think any posts relating to the assembly, dis-assembly, restoration and repair of psg's is of interest and importance to us all. Certainly the more I read and see about re[airs etc the more I learn and understand about how the psg works and how I can carry out simple repairs/changes to my own guitar - so keep it up!

Slowly all parts are getting ready for my ZUM. Cabinet will be here next week and the polishing is done, the endplates looks like mirrors now! The new fretboard will be in my hands on Friday the 11 of April. Mickey Adams will bring it to Köping Sweden for the steelguitar seminarium there. More Pictures will come later as the work gets on.

Well! Now it is almost done! I will have to wait for the fretboard until Friday. Mickey Adams has hopefully the new fretboard in his case for me. I had to put back the broken original fretboard so I could try play it! The original fretboard was just some plastick sticker that was glued on the neck!
I am very satisfied with the result of this Project!, sounds great and look much better than Before.
