Hi Guys

Sorry I been a bit slow in getting the backing tracks for the Jan meet ready.
'Appartment No.9' is now on the shared drive, there is a short version, long version and chord sheet.
I'll get the rest done as soon as I can.

If any one sill needs access to the shared drive just PM me and I'll get you set up, I just need your email address.

All the Best

Shaun

Thanks Shaun, much appreciated. I thought it might be handy to have some original or early versions in one place:

Thanks Jonathon,

Good Idea, I'll have a look at those when I get home.

Jon you're a genius. Gone are my excuses for not preparing! Though I reserve the right to turn up horribly under-prepared.

Wow - Jonathan - your are a compu-expert as well as a tasty steel player. I note also you've got a dab hand at creating tab as well (Sneeky peeking on the US Forum). Many talents!

You are referring to the one and only time I've done any tab, a couple of years ago: I was teaching myself Lloyd Green's bits from the Byrds song (One Hundred Years From Now) and also trying to learn TablEdit. Needless to say it took me many hours and I mastered neither. Another good experience along the road though. I'm quite pleased with the tab (but don't look at the notation).

It's dead easy to put up YouTube links Nick. You find the video on YouTube, copy the whole address from the top of your web browser, create a message on the forum, click the "youtube" button slightly above and to the right of where you're typing, and paste the address just between the which appear in your message. When you hit Preview it should show the video inside your message.

Tom, I think it's just as worthwhile to turn up and jam along to the chords as it is to work out some things in advance. Last time I made a real effort to learn the melody - and I might do that again but probably not every time. Either way it's great ear training. Oh to be able to jam the melody on the fly (and then go off into Buddy Charleton land)! :guitar:

D'oh! I still have last month's tunes to learn so have a feeling I will be grossly under prepared for the 19th...

If we're taking suggestions for future meetings, I'm partial to Maiden's Prayer. Particularly this version by tasty Chicagoan string agitator, Joel Paterson:

Hi David - I'll have a listen to your recommendation. I thought that it might be an idea for a future meeting for each of us to choose a Beatles song to present, unaccompanied. We could then maybe get a couple of preferred versions tabbed out to learn over a backing track for the next month...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to our next meeting. A lift is offered - I'll be in touch after the New Year.
Happy holidays!
