6th works for me.

Glad that pub was a useful suggestion. Never been there in my life so hope it's alright...

I'm going to go up there one day next week - possibly Thursday, all being well. I have emailed them about parking and will check this out as well as the room when I go up there. I will also check availability and' if the room looks ok, I'll make a tentative booking. If anyone else can get there before then, then could they post here to save me a trip?
I am happy to go however... and will report back here.
We can then get some firm numbers, work out cost and hopefully get this off the ground. Here's hoping!

I am not a steel player , but would like to play a civilian guitar!
I can also do a bit of drums and bass if necessary.
If it is a closed order please let me know { Franciscan harp players,Dominican washboard Templars}

Hi Malc
This will be our first meeting. We have a couple of backing tracks to play along to. The room is not very big, so we have had to limit it to 8 steel guitars - and no other backing players. I hope we can make this a regular session - and it may well be that we will need a bigger venue for future meetings, when other musicians might be happy to provide accompaniment... If you are fairly local, why don't you drop in to the pub on 6th October and see what we get up to!
See also the thread at the top of this index for details of the pub etc.
Hope to see you.

You should take up Malc's offer.

There's always a time in the day when you need to play along with other musicians, even if it's a vocalist strumming a guitar.

8 steels don't take up much room, give it a thought.

But it's your meeting.
