Hi J - have you thought of using the scraping sound? Check out this from Doug Beaumier



While on the subject of non-pedal guitarists, I hope most of you are familiar with the work of Billy Robinson? Controlled bar slants, string bends etc. Do a search for his numerous YouTube vids. Or L.T. Zinn, or John Ely. Check them out if you want to see some superb steel guitar playing in various styles. T :D
