I know it's a bit late, and there arn't to many steelies aroung this area, unless we have some young ones wanting to learn, but Bill and myself, as The Silver Surfers are giging tonight, Sat 11th May at Theale Social Club near Reading in the big bar, so any newbies looking to get into the steel, please come along and ask questions, and I'll be pleased to help all I can to get you into a real musos instrument. ;)

Hi Malcolm, hope you still flying, not too long after you I took my flying licence, but not flown in 4 years so would need to take GFT again.
Still, they do say if you fly a steel you can fly anything, in fact it's safer up there than down here on the roads.

Sadly costs (both actual flying and two kids at uni) have stopped me flying.Have a couple of hours when down in Cornwall, the lady instuctor knows me quite well now and just sits there and lets me do my thing.IF lottery comes up will do GFT and get myself a 172 or 182,might splash out and do rotary licence.Often used to fly over your old field at Popham when doing cross country.
