i love beans !
French American, born in Paris, France 1951 & went directly to New York, the big apple
Lived 30 years in the USA
Got into the Musik Biz at 17, thanks to the Brits, as a roadie
(attaché case w: a lektrik razor, toothbrush, road map & a bottle of good Scotch)
i worked w: a few known English groups on their first tours of the USA in the late 60s ( memorable times ! )
Picked up on the guitbox thanks to them "understanding " musicians
round that time i picked up my first lap steel : Gibson BR6 - great lil' baby !
Brought up w: the Blues, Motown, Aretha Franklin, Jimi, Jeff Becko & Ry Cooder
worked as a roadie w: some known American bands too - went through 46 states - even Hawaii but not Alaska
hit up many many pawnshops back in those days & bought all kinds of stuff that i sold for what i considered at the time a lot of dough
when i see their prices now, i kinda kick myself but heck, i had a ball
Came to Europa & settled in France - worked in a Musik store in Paris & played on weekends for a few years
back in 1980, a good buddy who had opened the "first" second hand Musik store in Paris, gave me a SB Maverick cause he could'nt sell it & figured i might make some sense out of it
i putzed around w: it & Winnie's book but i was'nt really hooked.........yet
anyway, decided it was time to move on up to the country & paint my mailbox blue
been here in PairO'knees next to Andorra & Spain ever since
got settled down, got a wife, 4 kids & ran a biz as an elektrician, tiler, dry waller, mason, carpenter
traded my BMW bike for SB Professional D10 back in 2001 & got hooked !
got some gigs & did ok
discovered the mother ship ( b0b's forum ) & the Intl Steel Community
i've learned so much from them, that i decided to set up a French Steel Guit' Fo' & a French Steel web site too
the original Steel Guitar France dot com was established in 2001
since i've sold about 70 psgs, a bunch of lap steels, amps, accessories & given courses as well
yep ! been havin' a ball on both E9 & C6 -before the curtain closes on this mad mad world, i still manage to get out & blow some notes & chords
i'll give it up when somebody pries my steel bar & picks from my cold fingers
Blimey ! how's that for a résumé ?
