That "Fender 1000" is a specialist's guitar, bit of a collecter's item, IF it's real! Help me here fellas; anybody know that colour? Refinished? I've only seen blond or the yellow/red/black sunburst). An immaculate looking 1959 Fender-1000, with the bridge covers intact; how does one of those turn up in Cornwall anyhow?? Somebody on here MUST know it? Am I too much of a sceptic?
Anyway, back to your query - We assume you want to play something in the country music genre as that's what usually brings people here - although neither the instrument nor the site is that restricted. If that is so you need a 10 string guitar, maybe even a D-10 if you want to play country/jazz/swing/standards. We have members in your area, wait for more contacts! Best of luck - don't rush! Tony.

As a Relativley new player, I would respectfully suggest :
buy as expensive and profesional as you can. It'll sell better, if you ever want to change instruments.
That said, Dont be put off by an instrument with "just" 3 pedals and a couple or more levers, that'll give you more than enough to deal with as a beginner.
A single ten string, E9 neck is fine.
Avoid starter guitars or student models, most have their copedent welded, and cannot be changed.
Buy a book, if you haven't already. Winnie Winstons is a good starting point.
Find a teacher. Local if you can. travel if you can't...
persevere.

Icidentally, I've owned a White Pedal steel, and found it a very sturdy and steady instrument. You could do a lot worse.... Might be worth a punt?

Good call from John. BUT, if you can't go see the Fessy, maybe someone on here can?
Why am I so suspicious of ads that look too good to be true! A while ago there was a spate of PSGs on Gumtree, all nearly the same price (£1100 odd) and all VERY attractive (an Emmons P/P, a Mullen RP or similar - no Mavericks, Carters, ZB etc, i.e. the models you are likely to find over here). They all got pulled by Gumtree as scams. As far as I can see, there are four PSGs on Gumtree now; MSA S-12 Uni; the Fessy; that Fender and a ShoBud D-10; all within 70 quid of £1100 (also a lefty that looks dead right for it's money).
If anyone on here owns any of these I apologise for my suspicions - please advertise on the forum where we have some trust. We are a small community and I can't believe that there are so many top class pro guitars out there that we don't know!

I seem to recall a spate of these a while back, and it seems we're getting more on gumtree. I personally would contact the seller and tell them You've a freind living in their area who will view the guitar for you and pay cash. that usually weedles out the scammers.
