In my youth I drove the length of the UK, from Scotland through the Dales down to Cambridge, over to Oxford, down to St Ives and back playing Lloyds cassette the entire time! Seriously this is a true story, nothing else the entire journey! I was so besotted with his sound!

I have two major regrets in life:

Not going back stage to meet:
Lloyd on his visit to The Kelvin Hall Glasgow, [that was thee venue back then]
Buddy.. when he was with 'The Everly Brothers' at the Usher Halls Edinburgh [likewise Iconic in every way]

Domestic bliss back then dictated that I made a swift harp at the end of the show! Whilst a love of country prevailed it was not sufficient to hang around to talk to steel players regardless of their standing!

Be assured! It wouldn't happen now! But alas for Buddy it is now too late he has gone on before! RIP the master! I would have loved to have met him!

Super job Jim here don't you think!?

I met Jim Loessberg in Texas he was playing drums in the Yellow Rose Band with Bobby Flores though he did have a little play on Randy's steel on a couple of numbers, what a night three of the finest steel players in the same band! and I would have been happy to listen to any of them

Great stuff :guitar: and yet another great player I've never heard of. There's a fair few out there.

Also, he's the first steelie I've seen wearing a tie  As a sucker for accessories, should I try sporting a Kipper? With the full Windsor, of course

Thanks Bob :guitar:

Very smart JD, they were the days. Great to also see a pic of the late great Jon Derek. Brought back some great memories.

You looked very 'dapper' John, very smart.
