I've always had this dream of shooting a video, at night, looking over the city. I finally made this come true with a massive thanks to my dad who got us cleared to use the university car park top floor. There aren't many places in Leeds you can get a good shot of the skyline. Of course this was a dream come true for me but I just wish those massive barriers weren't there, as there were some brilliant buildings behind, however I understand the health and safety of this. It was still a great opportunity.

As for playing duties... well I realized very quickly I needed to tap into the pop market as all the people my age are asking me to play "this and that". Growing up with this kind of music made me think this would be a great idea (regardless of people's opinion's on Oasis' musicianship). The Show Pro is sounding great and I'm a firm believer in seat time with one's instrument. I'm really growing into it and the sounds are getting better and better. I've also got to thank my brother for telling me to take some time off and then to get some good seat time in, instead of barraging YouTube. You know what, this will be the only video I put up in 2017 but I'm so proud of it. I've finally made something decent.

Again thanks for the compliments.

The main aim was to take a shot at a non country and younger audience with this (although the steel lovers still have their natural crying steel).

We'll see how this goes and thanks to you all for the support over the last 3, nearly 4 years.

I've got to admit. I hadn't been playing much this year. I have been busy with other things + a bit of RSI from work. I've got to admit, I had been down about my personal playing long before my break, and other stuff...but that's life.

I can finally say I've been sparked out of this. So Stop Crying Your Heart Out.

I can honestly say I feel refreshed and more stuff will be coming.

Very cool Steven, great to hear/see you back in the saddle A proper posh video, too.

And, it is good to hear something 'different'. If you do requests, there's a pop song by The La's called 'There She Goes', that would sound sweet on your guitar, which is sounding really nice, btw.

Top tip! If your doing anymore Oasis tunes, keep the parka on

Excellent move Steve, taking the steel out of the "traditional" range of country and - as you say - 1/4/5 stuff. It's far too expressive an instrument to be pigeonholed into one category or genre.

I've been quietly working away in this direction myself for a few years now, and it's good to know someone else is thinking that way too. As you say, you learn a lot once you break free of the mould. Who knows, maybe this will prompt me to put a YouTube video together...

Nice one Steven great idea and playing, can I just point out though to the comments re chord structures and types of music that not all country songs are a 1,4,5. Try the most famous of them all "lovesick blues" that has a 1, 2, 3 major, 3 minor. 4, 5, 6 major and 6 minor. "City of New Orleans" also has a complex structure, it's up to you as a musician to alter the chords to create tension, release and colour. Just sayin' like.

Haha, of course I know that Alan. I know there are many mental country songs from the past and present as structures go however, there are thousands of songs that span round a 1-4-5 as well. Johnny Paycheck's music has been inspiring me recently. Absolutely mental changes in his music. Thanks for the compliments on my playing.

Thanks Danny! I'll take a listen to the song mentioned. To be honest I should have kept the parka on. My hands were shaking half way through recording

Great playing as always buddy!
I'm also busy with some stuff other than traditional country or just jazz, but haven't recorded it yet. I will do that in the future for sure and it makes this instrument indeed even more beautiful than it already is.
