Greg Leisz on steel, I think.

Normally I would sing his praises to the rooftops, But, after repeated listening to the new Alison Krauss CD, with Tommy White on 2 tracks and Mike Johnson on the remainder, I have to say that Greg's tone and style seem a bit 'lumpy'. Mike Johnson's tone and creativity shine through on the CD - it's the best sounding recording of steel guitar I have ever heard - pure, clean and a tone that can't be beaten.
If you haven't got this CD, do yourselves a favour. The best pedal steel playing - bar none. :ugeek:

Spot on Nick. Windy City is my favourite album of the year. 8-)

Actually, it was the singing i was praising, rather than the Steel Playing-as good as it is.
I have to agree, Windy city is a class album.
