Great version from Lloyd. He has so much taste.

I recorded a version of this song a few years ago. I'll post it on here later. In the meantime hear is Lloyd playing SO SAD live at a St Louis steel convention. Brilliant.

OK - before I heard either of the great Lloyd Green versions of So Sad, I recorded this version on my Show Pro not long after I got it home from the USA. It was my small tribute to Phil Everly fairly soon after he passed away. I used a Peavey 100 watt 2 x 12" Valve King and mike'd up the amp. Nowhere near as good as Lloyd's sublime versions I'm afraid, but I don't like to copy too much done by other players.

Fantastic Ken Sweet tone, and I particularly liked how you played the 2nd verse in unison. Is that fast bar work, or clever pedalling? Or both

Danny - the unison section was done on strings 2 (lowered a tone) and 5 (raised a tone). Nothing clever I'm afraid.

Donny - no I didn't play the lead guitar part, but I played an acoustic guitar part. I played that tune at the Dallas Steel Show in 2014. It's a nice tune to play - you ought to have it at one of your monthly meets.
