I have never been much of a fan of Red up to now, based on recordings that I have of him. Hower, one album has slipped through the net in my collection. It's called Steel Guitar Favorites, and its got some pretty good stuff on it including the opening track Almost To Tulsa - unashamedly nicked from Buddy Charleton. Not as good as Buddy's but not bad nevertheless. The whole album is on this You Tube clip, and may be be of interest to one or two people out there. I reckon it's well worth a listen.

Ken, I have been a fan of Red Rhodes since I heard him with Michael Nesmith on the Magnetic South album, around 1970/71. Worth a listen. Donny

Donny - I bought a number of Mike Nesmith albums to listen to what Red was doing. I also bought his 'Velvet Hammer' album and the 'Live at The Palamino' album. The latter features Dennis Hromek and Biff Adam on bass and drums. These guys were early members of Merle Haggard's Strangers. Red plays a nice version of By The Time I Get To Phoenix on the end of the live album.

Yes, I am another Red Rhodes fan. I would think that I have every LP album he recorded. Still play all the Nesbitt albums regularly, great stuff.
