My first release!

Postby charliejwalter » Sun Dec 13, 2015 2:24 pm

Hi all,

I've recorded a new EP with my duo Jonas and Jane.
I released it on the 5th December digitally and the first track on the EP "The Traveling Kind" is my first ever public track with Steelie on.
I've owned a Pedal Steel for about 9 months now, thoroughly in love with the instrument :)

I hope you all like it:

I've had a good listen to the CD Charlie, and you have done a great job. I hope that you and your partner have a terrific and successful 2016.

Only caught the short piece of steel at the beginning Charlie, but it sounds good to me, fits nicely with the song and has good tone.

Best of luck with the EP :guitar:

Excellent Charlie! I immediately thought of a young James Taylor (that's a compliment btw) and I love the spare instrumentation, it really lets the psg and the harmonica shine through to maximum impact. Sweet harmonies, too. Also like your style on the acoustic. I'll be havin' some of this. Good job.

Just one question...you're Charlie, she's Jane,....who the feck is Jonas?

One thing for sure Charlie - for someone who has only been playing pedal steel for just over 9 months, you have done brilliantly. Glad you are enjoying the Carter. I have to fix my studio floor, and then will contact you to arrange another lesson. :D

In the light of Ken's information I'd like to amend my previous post from 'good job' to Amazing Job! .....9 months! That's very tasteful arranging and playing. You're on the right track, Jack, sorry Jonas:)

Sort of guessed that Charlie ;) 8-)

I reckon that description fits Ken, as for the rest of us - we're getting there just like yourself. I think Danny has been playing about 2 years and myself about 4, so we still remember what it's like when you first sit behind one of these beasts. But as the others have said, you sound good already, so it must be in you. You've got one the best tutors in Ken as well

Songs are great BTW :D
