ISGF'15 'Mickey does Willie'

Epitomising the Irish Steel Guitar Festival...the band are thrown in at the deep end when Mickey pulls this on them. He certainly .... 'gives it some' ..... and the guys pick up the ball and run with it!
I smiled as did Damien when he finished that fiddle break! Winging it at its best! Well done that man!! .... and Paul!!
I know I said one number from each player but all the rest have other videos up there from previous festivals and when I saw this I just ...
'Couldn't Not' ....and that remark sounds Irish anyway!
We all love Mr Nelson and what a job Mickey makes of this!

I just love this song, my favourite and what made me post Mickey's version, same phrasing! Fabulous!

Fantastic! Hats off to the band for keeping up with what must be a difficult enough song to play when you know it, but to follow Mickey - well done to all concerned.
That Mickey will be quite good if he sticks at it
BTW - I wish I could sing like that - he outwillies Willie (especially when he sticks his fingers up his nose!)

Great tone from Mickey. It didn't sound like a Mullen, and when I looked closer it turned out to be a Ritt. They are tone machines. Mickey goes to Buck Reid for lessons, and that speaks volumes for Buck's ability as a teacher and musician.

Fantastic! I've only 'known' Mickey through his excellent youtube tuition videos but what a crackin' chanter the man is. And, I love the fact, as Ken pointed out, that someone as experienced and talented as him should still seek out lessons. Inspirational.
And...Bob, I'm not half glad that you couldn't not have posted this!
