Thanks for the comments. I came across the song by accident. I was adjusting the EQ on my amp and was running across the strings and had the B pedal down. I kept hearing the opening run or at least part of it and thought "Where have I heard this before?" then I realised which song it was so had a go . Strange how you come up with things.

Dave Hartley was right. When you record, you realise where you are going wrong. There are several places where I could have used a different string combination and would have tidied it up - but there it's done now. Could re record for personal satisfaction I suppose

Next projects will be "Walk through this world" based on the John Hughey version, then using my 8 string lap steel in C6 "Blue Steel Blues" based on the Tom Morrell version if I can find out what type of runs he does in the second part. Wont be exact as he uses E13 tuning. Then finally ( if my luck is in and I have a year to spare) Oklahoma Stomp by Sneaky Pete. Bloody hell that's ambitious - must want my head testing. It's having the nerve to give it ago and knowing all eyes are on me and wait for the flack. I will use guitar and mandolin hopefully for other parts.

I used my Sho-Bud through the fender amp I had at Barnham so there was a short echo there. I recorded using Cuebase and created an effects track for more of a distant echo. The intro parts through the Fender amp again with chorus.

That is a lovely sound! Great playing, really precise. More please!
