Buddy Emmons had a fabulous outro on this Willie Nelson song, I have made an instrumental out of it, and tried to capture a bit of Buddy's tone (easier said than done :D ), on my Marlen pedal steel

Forgive me for playing lead guitar for the first half, I wanted to put some steel fills in

Richard, you take some of the least popular guitars that are mechanicaly challanged etc etc.... and produce these fab sounds from them!! Kin amazing.... if I wore a hat I would be exposing my bald spot to you as we speak......

Thanks Guys :D

I'm pleased with the recording, it turned out quite well :D

Now that I have found a pickup (GL E66) for the Marlen that I can get along with (the original single-coil had far too much hum) and have dialled in some eq in the amp settings to mitigate the humbuckers inherent 'middliness', I think that, for recording purposes, the Marlen is equal to my ZB.

The ZB spoils me, as it has such a light pedal and lever action, that, when I go back to the Marlen, there is a period of re-adjustment to its slightly heavier action.

But if I've got a gig coming up, then I've got to play either my Marlen or my Denley for a few days beforehand, as I don't gig with my ZB, it's too precious to me :D

Hi Richard,

It was great to meet up with you a couple of weeks ago. Once again you have produced the goods, what a fantastic rendition of a beautiful song plus a tone to die for. This is what we have now come to expect of you Richard when you sit behind your guitar. Well Done.

It's always a pleasure to have you round and talk steel.
