Hi Gary
Yes I can see why you think, ‘insanity’! I think its great that you are going for it anyway and posting all these different things on what would otherwise be ‘The Pedal Steel Preservation Society’! I am also experimenting with the overlap between pedal steel and electronic music though my weapons of choice are analogue monosynths which can also be tuned to perfect intervals like the steel. Here’s a link to an article I found recently describing some other pioneers of steel.

Keep up the good fight.
Cheers
Calum

Thanks Chaps! And thanks for the article Calum...nice. I was shocked that I didn't get a mention though, but then again, no I wasn't. I guess I fit into the 'bedroom hobbyist' category...damn it!!

Hi Gary - you're certainly an interesting player. Are you going to the far east soon? I'd love to see you play live, and if there is a Steel Fest in Bristol in June this year, it would be great if you would be on the list of performers.

Hi Ken
I've already managed to get to Thailand for a month and back again...quite an achievement I can tell you!! (Thanks to the big-Covid, I haven't seen my daughter for nearly 2 years, she lives and works in Bangkok, so now I'm happy again...for a while). I've tended to shy away from the idea of playing to the steel community on account of a serious lack of interest from the majority. But I'm not proud...so maybe, yes.

I doubt that very much! In fact, my guess is I'm older than you. My socks certainly are, but I digress.
