On Wednesday the 29th june, I took part in the filming of a TV programme, after being invited by Conor Duffy, a young up and coming singer on the Country Music scene, to play pedal steel and lead guitar, the filming took place at the world famous 'Matt Molloys' pub in Westport, County Mayo, renowned as a 'Traditional music venue' seven nights a week, but we turned it 'Country' on wednesday, we only did one song, 'If tomorrow never comes' Conor playing an unplugged acoustic guitar, while i played both steel and lead on the song, we were happy enough with one take, but were asked to do a second take just in case, it will be part of a weekly show being broadcast Nationwide [Ireland] on tuesday 12th july at 8 30 pm, and repeated the following sunday, for the majority of you on mainland U.K. it is available on IPLAYER, [internet tv] it is being broadcast by TG4, which comes from County Galway, and is an Irish Language TV station, which places great emphasis on music and the arts, and im told our little slot will quickly find its way onto you tube, I hope it comes across well, the film crew were very happy with things, and its nice to do something like this once in a while, im still waiting to see the final edited video i recorded last month, with the Jesse Conlon Band for 'hot country' and if i can, i will also post that, :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:

Only just noticed your post Eddie. Sounds like your in demand, thats great. We get some of the Irish Country programmes over here-hot country for one.
Ill certainly be looking out for ya.

On there tonight I have just seen Charlei Landsborough, with I think-Dave Rowlands on steel, not 100% sure but certainly looked like him as I recall him from years ago. very nice playing, with a great band.

catch ya mate
Dave.

And there was me thinking [after 66 views] that nobody was remotely interested, thanks dave, that video for hot country, with the Jesse Conlon band, is still awaiting one scene to be shot, where Jesse has a fight with his wife, before going drinking in the saloon, while the tv programme with Conor Duffy is going out tuesday 12th july at 8 30,

Well now Mr Byrne ............‘I’m most impressed!’

You spent some time rehearsing that one did you not!

Your playing was verbatim to the GB recording ‘as I remember it’ (just in case anybody corrects me!)

Seriously! Nice work on steel and guitar Eddie! I watched it through and that presenter was a bit tasty too, only surpassed by the seafood! Question is!! Would it be her then the seafood or the seafood then!… Ah well! … A fellow can dream eh!.........

Back to reality. It was good to get some quality footage of you there, and that Carter is a tad smart! Did I see it at Bettystown? When John Fabian was still with us!

Great to get the link!

Good job Eddie. Great to see live music featuring steel guitar on TV in Ireland. It just doesn't happen in the UK any more.

The sound engineer(s) did an excellent job.
