The British Steelies Society

This a track I put together just before the corona invasion. Was just having a bit of fun, nothing too serious and it cheered me up at the time.

The percussion track was played on the pedal steel, I had my Fishman midi pickup installed and routed this to a percussion generator plugin. I played a set riff around the 1-4-5 chord progression and this gave the percussion. It also gave me a chance to experiment with recording my "new" double bass, bit of work still to do there but it's not too bad. Stuck in some cheesy marimba & mexican style trumpets and more or less improvised the pedal steel part, hence there are a few bum notes and mistakes.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun to do.

I like it, Geoff. You could offset the cheeriness by doing your best Ry Cooder impression, and singing about the plight of our farmers, now that the European totty howkers have been unceremoniously despatched.
