First recording

Postby Will C » Thu Jun 02, 2016 11:56 am

My first recording, a bit rough as we took it on Rod's iPhone. Rod and I have been meeting for about three weeks now, he's a local singer/songwriter. I like his material, but he also has good taste in other people's material. Here's our attempt at Wild Horses by the Stones. Be kind... everyone has to start somewhere. :D

Gaun yersel, Will. That was braw :guitar:
2 criticisms, if I may. 1 major and 1 minor. First, major; turn your amp up  that's tasty stuff you're playing and it deserves to be louder :guitar: Second; maybe dial down the verb on the pa :? (this is just my personal taste talking), your man, Rod's got a great voice and is a nice player.
Keep 'em coming :guitar:
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

Thanks, both of you. I do like Rod's voice, I think he's good and I was trying to do the "supporting" thing so kept the volume down a tad. Plus, the iPhone was right next to Rod's amp on the table, so it was bound to pick him up a bit more. We'll have to do something a bit more professional if we are to do any serious demos but were pleased that it came out as well as it did.

Well done Will, nowt wrong with the steel, vocals or guitar playing. I'm sure the recording techniques will only get better, keep em coming.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys, much appreciated. Why did I wait so long? The old "it's not good enough" thing I guess.
