Oh yes, Dave, I'm fully loaded!
In my humble opinion, it really is the best out there. I'd been through Logic, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Cubase and Nuendo, all problematic, in the studio where I worked, and a client suggested I look at Reaper, after experiencing yet another crash. I had heard of Reaper but thought it was just a piece of hobbyist, shareware. It must have taken me all of 30 mins playing around with it, before I was convinced.
Obviously, if you're after a load of bundled vst instruments, you could plump for the usual suspects, but having enough 3rd party plug ins I'll take Reaper's stability any day. Even the BBC choose to use it for outside broadcasting, Glastonbury etc.
In the studio I used 2 RME Firefaces and a Focus rite Octopre for 24 track recording, but now, at home, I'm happily using an RME Babyface. Both setups rock solid.
And, forgive me for correcting you, but it's 60 dollars and according to my phone's converter that's the princely sum of £43.51!!! Inconceivable.
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.
