Hi Paul
There is some information under the video on YouTube, you may have to click the small arrow at the side to see them!
The previous video shows the scales played straight ascending and descending.
In this exercise I'm playing them in thirds! So play the first note miss a note and go back to the one you have missed and so on up and down the neck. Then play the missing note and then play 4 notes but always going back to the one you missed!

You are so right Alan scales etc are a great practice and certainly can be fun as you have shown here.
Thanks for posting I am sure this will great help to beginners of this drug we call the pedal steel.
