That is just fabulous, the band is also soooo tasteful, hardly played anything first verse then the fiddle did a bit, lead , then steel, each in turns not playing over each other, superb.

This guy is really good.
He will be appearing at the Northern Nashville (Thurso) festival in April,
I will be on the same show probably selling hot dogs.
Looking forward very much to meeting Him.

Having alwys been a Marty Robbins fan, this is right up my street, I had the pleasure of playing the Marty Robbins Show in the Apollo in Glasgow 1974/75, a real gent, can anyone remember the name of his Japanese steel player? Donny

The steel player You talk of was(I think) Katz Kubiatchi probably spelled totally wrong.
Marty also had a bass player named Jack Pruett Husband of Jean Pruett, Marty introduced Him as Mr Jean Pruett

It's going to be 7 years in February 2011 that that Katz passed away in Panama City Florida. at 60 years of age. Apparently he was one heck of a cook. I'll keep my eyes and ears in search of his material. He was one of the good guys.

A serious 'typo' with his name here on the picture, it SHOULD be "Katsuhiko Kobayashi" or Katz Kobayashi..
