Here’s a new track from Dave Nash. Some nice picking as always.

Interesting pedal setup there...and no volume pedal?

Gary, as far as I remember Dave always built his volume pedals on knee levers.

Yes Roy you are right. When I first knew Dave, he was based in the Southampton area. He used a volume pedal initially, but then installed an adapted knee lever to replace his volume pedal. That freed up one foot to use on his pedals. Quite radical thinking, and it makes sense in a way. Dave has always built his own guitars, due to the shortage of decent and affordable left handed guitars. I think he is on Mk5 guitar these days.

Thanks guys...yes, that's really interesting...quite a guy, obviously!! And a nice player to boot, which helps. I can't imagine a volume knee lever pedal, but maybe it's my knees!

Another interesting little mod that Dave put on his guitar was to put a window in the top of his guitar's cabinet, and mounted a Korg chromatic tuner in there (you can see it just behind his tuner head). He also put an early John Birch / Basil Henriques humbucker pickup in his guitars many years ago. He was one of the first UK players to do so.
As you can see from the YouTube clip, Dave is a pick blocker. He has always been a rapid player.

Bloody Norah!
All things considered; 1)a self built, great sounding 12 string guitar, 2)the unique setup and pedal arrangement, 3)the clean, speedy chops.....fecking amazing.
Great Post, Mr Nash, thank you

I forgot to add - Dave plays extended D9 rather than the usual E9. So you can see he is not someone who follows the herd.
