Hi All
I'm just finishing off my covers album (or musical autobiography as it's turned out), and then I'm going to start the impossible task of finding a label...but I'm gonna try anyway. This will be the 2nd track on it, the first track being Katie Dear by the Louvins. This one's Buck. I see no point in wasting time replicating the classic Bakersfield sound...as you'll hear. In spite of that, Moon is still one of my all-time fav steelies. And Wynn Stewart (rather than Buck) is one of my all-time fav singers, but that's another track.
Enjoy
Gary

Very nicely done, Gary. I think the slower feel + mandolins (?) add a lot to the song!

Thanks Zak. Yeah, I was in two minds about the tempo, but kept on with it. Then the mix sounded a bit flat and dull so I almost gave up on it altogether. Then I did what I sometimes do in such situations: I added two mandolins, far left and far right, in order to broaden the sound stage and brighten up proceedings. It sometimes works! I'll see if I still like it tomorrow.
