There Stands the Glass

Postby Mark » Mon Oct 31, 2011 9:54 pm

A couple of weeks ago l did a gig at Pontins with Phil Shannon and his band. I have to say it was a real pleasure working with Phil; the last time I played steel for Phil was about 15 years ago... and he'd only just recoved! Phil and his band played some real classic country songs that I'd just forgotten about - I just had to YouTube this one:

Fill it up to the brim....

Good, bit dry though, IMO.

Get the steelmixer in that rack..

You obviously locked yourself in the studio while the trick or treaters were out..

No way... I was out trick or treating with the kids.... a poor musician has to grab a meal from wherever he can!

Yes, it is dry... I did it like this so you could hear the pickup sound without too much effect. What you hear is recorded straight out of the back of the PRE-1000. I've added no extra EQ, no compression, and no extra reverb on the steel track. What you hear is exactly what I heard as I played it.

I also should say the same is true of the guitar tracks. The Taylor accoustic is Carl's... It's the best accoustic I've played.

Super smooth class playing Mark, loved it, also that Taylor acoustic would be very high up on my wish list,
