Another Bridge To Burn

Postby hickenjr » Thu Dec 03, 2020 10:44 pm

Hey guys,

Here's my last video for this year, a tune I've wanted to do far a while after watching some vintage Opry footage!

I was using my recently acquired Vox MV50 mini amp on this. Sounds sweet with little noise.

Kind Regards, Steven Hicken Jr.

Hey John,

Thanks for the compliments. I'm working hard so glad its noticed. I've noticed a big improvement in myself over the last year, something has clicked...probably the Paul Franklin Method. I was stuck in a rut before after my initial development as a teen.

I'm hopefully going to be getting out more in steel land and gigs after coronavirus eases. I've been guilty of being a bedroom player in the past due to not feeling ready for the pressure. Hopefully we can meet sometime and I'll show you a couple of things too. Will be fun.
Kind Regards, Steven Hicken Jr.

Very nice Steven, that's my favourite tempo to play along with. Really nice picking. Regards, Donny.

Thanks Donny!

The backing track was quite a bit faster than what was here, I slowed it down with a program because I think a song like this should be a bit slower. I have seen some extreme examples where they are too slow though, I think this tempo is the best middle ground. Not too slow, not too fast. I tried catching the feel of the Grand Ole Opry with this one...just with a second rate steel player instead of legends like Pee Wee Rogers and Weldon Myrick.
