Music help needed

Postby Paulcouk » Sun Jan 03, 2016 4:40 pm

Hi Im thinking of a way to explain this hear goes
I am learning music and the steel I must off been off school the day they had music.
and that was many years ago.
I am struggling with the background music anyway
But my question is A WALTZ a 3/4 I know it has 3 beats to a bar
I was watching one video ....And the block said it was starting on the last bar so 1 2 3 and the music was coming on the 3rd note
and the music altho was a tab.. there was a written sheet music written above the tab
So I know what to do,
But I have tabs in a (waltz timings ) but without the written sheet music on top of the then
then when do I know what bar the music starts on
I hope I have explained it right
Can anybody help Thank you Paul

Hi Paul
the easiest way I think would be to "Google" for the sheet music of the song you want. eg, for an example I searched for sheet music for tenessee waltz & found this http://www.hughcan.com/music/tennessee_waltz/tennessee_waltz_original_sheet_music.pdf which shows two pick up notes.

You may also like to "Google" Anacrusis to see the technical aspect of what its all about. Basically the music proper starts on the first "down beat"

Hope this helps
