I found this thread on the American Steel Guitar Forum most enlightening, uplifting and at the same time it made me feel guilty slightly for neglecting my playing and not practising enough to actually live up to what I am perceived to be !!
I was also amused at my usage of the English language on "Foreign" Forums..

Well deserved Mr H. I don't think that you are regarded as a prophet without honour here. Even so, it's better than honour without profit. All the best. John H.

Thanks Tony (And all) That track is a direct transcription I did from the original (Artie Shaw) The main melody is on my 1970 Emmons #1415-D, and played on midi guitar and midi steel(for the brass) and Keyboards (for the piano and string lines) the rest of the parts I just wrote into the sequencer..i.e. kit. etc.

The Swedish Rhapsody that Ray Montee liked was this version...I tried to stay close to the composer's (Hugo Alfvén) intent, but I felt that his G bass over the D7 chords in the first section was a smidgeon hard on the ears so I DID change that. AFAIK that's all I changed melodically or chordally.. The score, published around 1906, describes it as: a fantasy on popular Swedish folk melodies depicting the moods evoked by an old-time Swedish Midsummer-wake—the dancing and games around the May-pole through the magic night of Midsummer Eve. [One theme] is the composer's own invention, while other themes are borrowed from the folk-music of Sweden and elaborated by the composer.

Same Emmons and my pet reso..
