Looking down on some Gen Guys!

I get something of a warm feeling looking at these, genuine guys, who I really admire, giving of their time for the love of our PSG!

Though looking down on them here I considerably look up to them for their dedication and willingness to teach this instrument of ours, usually with much sacrifice of, time, energy, health and certainly personal expense!

Does this dedication exist in other genres? ..............It may well do but I don’t know of it!

Hats off guys! And to all those trying to keep PSG …… Out there!!!

Roy H, JD, DH, Digby, Tony RD, Jim (Pritchard)and the recent London guys, I include you all in this remark! ...(have I missed anybody?)

A special mention at this point to my mate Ted Nesbitt who has run such a meeting in Northern Ireland for some years (a venue I have very fond memories of!)

As for us! Something of a hiccup tonight, had brains kicked in guys we should have battered round to the La Ronde and gate crashed it! we could have been there in 10 mins! Ah well! .... It's an age thing!

For the greater world out there! We were locked out our venue tonight, no caretaker, a locked door, a bunch of steelies on the street!! most knackered having driven some considerable miles to be there! Being of the breed we are we considered sourcing a generator and busking a line of steelies! Or getting really mad and torching the joint! But in the end we traded stories, had a bunch of laughs on the pavement and awaited a door opener who never turned up!

Certainly another patch to add to life''s rich tapestry! .....Happy days!!

Kind words and thoughts Bob, but what about YOU !!!!!

I don`t know anyone that has done more for us. all the years I was running meetings that you supported and photographed and its not like you live just around the corner! Between you Roy and Marc, you saved our forum, and in difficult times your mediation has been faultless..... I could go on and on!

Lets see if there are one or two more that agree with me on this post????????

Totally. Both Bob and yourself JD have helped me immensely, as have Dave Hartley and Mark Dunn. I don't know of any other instrument where people get together on a semi regular basis and share expierience and knowledge AND with such passion and kindness.

Thank you all

Absolutely, I have pages (and pages, and pages) of emails from Tony RD, Dave H and David Wiggins (among many others!) that I constantly re-reference for all the valuable information they packed in replying to my short questions.
Not to mention Shaun's backing tracks, JD's advice when visiting to pick up an amp, and the South London Steelies knowledge exchange...
Got to say that there enthusiasm is infectious!

Agree wholeheartedly. Nothing but kindness, good advice, patience, honesty in dealings with what are expensive instruments and associated bits of kit. There are plenty of folks on this Forum I feel I know, but may never meet face to face.
Ain't the inter-webby net thing wonderful??

I am in total agreement to what JD has to say about Bob's commitment and unrelenting passion for the PSG.

Thank you Bob for all you have done in both the past and the present to keep us up to date with the goings on in the world of PSG.

BOB MUST BE ONE OF THE MOST ENTHUSIASTIC PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET ON ALL THINGS CONCERNING PEDAL STEEL GUITAR. HIS MEDIATION SKILLS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO THE FORE ON QUITE A FEW OCCASIONS, HIS KNOWLEDGE ON HOW THE DAMN THING WORKS IS INCREDIBLE AND HIS WORK SKILLS ARE SECOND TO NONE. JUST NEEDS TO LEARN TO PLAY IT NOW.
