:D I have got two cubes here and they will both be fitted with the Telonics speakers ASAP but the real beauty of it is, I don`t have to build new cabs like I have done in the past to fit JBL`s Cos these ones will go straight in the original Roland cabs and they are much lighter... but the sound is every bit the equal of the JBL E120 Whoop-de-Doo :D

John...The cube 80 sounds pretty good as it is, does this make a difference then? Where would I get one from? Dave

Well at last I have got my pair of 8 ohm Telonics speakers and have fited them in two of my cubes, they sound great in my small room but I can`t wait for the next gig to give`em a proper thrashing....
It may be of interest to some but when you fit Telonics speaker into a cube you need to enlarge the speaker hole slightly as the cast shell of the Telonics is just a bit bigger than the metal pressings on the original cube speaker but your 8 holes will still line up ok once the unit is in. And the other thing I noticed , because the Telonics is a bit more proud on the front of the cab the speaker grill settles nicely on the front of the speaker and makes a more solid job of it.
Out of interest, I weighed the original Roland speaker and the Telonics, they were both 7 LBs on my bathroom scales .... so now I hope to have the same quality of sound as my cube with JBL E120 but out of a cube that has the same weight as when Roland made it :)
