I think Mel Bay was a publisher,
I think You can buy Mel Bay's books on most stringed instruments.

Hi Billy, I had one of his books in my hand not so long ago, but I should have deleted this post as the guy is going with Emmons now, The Bay
setup was largely for non levered steels and is all over the place in comparison to the current E9th setup. thanks for the links anyway! Bob
