Hello,
On the 28th of June at the Vortex, Sucan Alcorn and BJ Cole played a concert. I didn't have the possibility to attend and I wonder if anyone here was on the concert and maybe did some recording?

The second sign of madness is to look for hairs growing on the palms of your hands, the first sign must surely be to record a performance by Susan Alcorn

AWESOME!!!!!!!!! This of course is Susans beautiful, soulful version of 'You and me' which is a huge improvement on Tammy Wynettes horrific version, i cant think for one moment why Susan is wasting her time with B.J. Cole, thanks for posting this Basil,
ps. at 1.31 im sure she played a bum note though, still the rest of her rendition more than made up for that little mishap, WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine her opening up with that at the "Ballroom of Romance" in Glenfarne !! there'd be a mass exodus to Lough Allen or even Drumshanbo, she might even get to meet Paschal Mooney !!

Ms Alcorn is a better player than some folks give her credit for. She isn't country and she isn't swing or jazz. She just takes the steel guitar into a different direction. Nothing wrong with that. BJ has been doing it for years.

Yeah this subject made for some interesting, Entertaining, lively and heated debate on the old site last year, and having listened to some other material that Ms Alcorn has recorded in a kinda neo classical style, in which she proves she can play, with touch and feel, it bewilders me even further why she chose to perform such utter nonsense as that, she knows its nonsense, as much as you and i both know its nonsense, its NOT a new direction for steel guitar, its utter nonsense,

Yeah I don't 'get it' either. Does nothing for me and I do like some weird music. But she's made a name for herself, seems to have quite a following and certainly polarises opinion. So she must be doing something right.
