Another great performance from Derek with Gene Watson on BBC'S Ceol Country (BBC Alba).For those who missed it believe it is repeated later in week.Believe there is another Gene Watson tour planned for June/July next year.

Sweet duo at 49.50min ! Shame he didn't get to do the JD solo on 14ct mind the lead takes it but Derek was there for sure! Magic!!

Just found it by chance last night and really enjoyed the hour of long show of LIVE country music and, as Bob said,
Derek played superbly. It was the first of six shows on BBC Alba on Sky.

The guys in Derek's band (Cie La Vie) told me he's been nominated for British Country Music - Musician of the Year: A well deserved nomination. Fingers-crossed...

Hi I am a new member to this forum, and just read about Derek Thurlby His name rings a bell from the late seventies early eighties around the South yorkshire North Nottingham area, other players were John Brady of four wheel drive, which became ho down. and dave wheelhouse from chesterfield, I have a SHO BUD SINGLE NECK BIRDS EYE MAPLE PEDAL STEEL , a Peavey 400 session amp, carlsboro pa valve model on a cabinet with 2 x 17" mckenzies and another cabinet with 2 x 15" jbl played very poorly in late 70/s early 80's not played since would love some lessons live in barnsley. anybody know of a patient tutor?.
